Pharmaceutical industry consolidates in the Mexican market after the Covid-19 pandemic: Luis Doporto

Luis Doporto Alejandre, general director and member of the Board of Directors of Marzam, recalled that the pharmaceutical industry faced one of the most significant challenges of the last decade: guaranteeing the connection between manufacturers, distributors, and final consumers.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the pharmaceutical industry strengthened its presence in the Mexican market. Marzam appears as one of the companies with the greatest strength for the end of 2022, registering a growth of 10% compared to the previous year.

Luis Doporto Alejandre, general director and member of the Board of Directors of Marzam, specified that the stability and innovation in the health sector during the last two years had involved a more significant number of industry players.

The manager recalled that the pharmaceutical industry faced one of the most significant challenges of the last decade: guaranteeing the connection between manufacturers, distributors, and final consumers.

Two years after the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, at Marzam, we redefined our objectives and proposed a new, much more strategic business vision marked by innovation with the same goal: to connect all the actors in the health sector”, he indicated.

One of the company’s significant efforts was Mega Venta 2022, an event that brought together the prominent leaders of the pharmaceutical industry in the country to generate high-value business relationships for independent manufacturers, laboratories, and pharmacies and promote the recovery of this sector in the country, said Luis Doporto Alejandre.

According to data from the Knobloch Group, a market research and measurement center for the pharmaceutical industry, the month of September presented significant movements that could give an overview of how this industry will close this year.

According to the data provided, the distribution market showed a growth of 0.9% during the same week, 37 of the month of September. While other wholesalers presented reductions of 0.1%, Marzam strengthened itself with a growth of 4.9% measured by units.

But Marzam points to a successful end of 2022 through business model innovation.
