Cofepris consolidates DIGIPRiS platform: digital income procedures with automatic resolution
The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) consolidates DIGIPRiS, a digital platform with which regulated industries can carry out various procedures with automatic resolution.
As of Monday, October 17, users must process, exclusively in DIGIPRiS, the request to obtain Operation and Health Responsible Notices for establishments of supplies for health, environmental health, and health services. They may also process Notices of Operation for establishments of products and services.
Now those interested can obtain the registration or modification of these procedures 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in 5 to 10 minutes. Previously, they were carried out in person with the requirement of obtaining an appointment and a service time of approximately half an hour.
With this advance in digital matters, the health authority is transformed into a more agile institution. The procedures on the DIGIPRiS platform represented 30 percent of attention at the Cofepris Comprehensive Services Center, so now the regulatory agency will redirect human and material resources to attend to other procedures requiring further evaluation. Likewise, this platform makes the traceability of each system more transparent.
With the implementation of DIGIPRiS at the national level, the areas of protection against health risks that make up the Federal Health System will reduce up to 70 percent of the receipt of procedures that do not require evaluation, which will favor the expansion of coverage through surveillance actions, control, and health promotion.
The digital evolution of the health authority has required a constant training process for the personnel of its different areas, who have worked on the conceptualization, development, and implementation of DIGIPRiS to speed up and innovate in the regulation, which translates into the reduction of bureaucracy so that a more significant number of establishments and services are safe for the population.
